Provisional Route Description

This has been drawn off Google Maps. The profile needs to be read from right to left. Physical Measurement and official profile can only be done later.

12.5km start at 380m. Slightly undulating on gravel road with highest point at 500m with 3km to go. Then on tar down into town with last km on old route into finish at 470m at the Church Grounds as before.

21.1km start at 518m. 5km on tar down to 406m then on slightly undulating gravel with a gentle climb from 14 to 18km high at 500m. Last 3km on tar down into town with last km on old route into finish at 470m on the Church Grounds as before.

NG Church Hall, De Rust at 11:00. Athletes are responsible to collect their own prize money or to make an alternative arrangement with the event organiser. Failing which prize money is forfeited (ASA Rule 2.8 & 2.10). Moneys not “arranged” will be donated to a charity of the event organizers choice.

Meiringspoort Road Closure:
The poort will be closed from 05:00 – 11:00. No vehicles allowed after 05:00 from Oudtshoorn and De Rust. Only athletes from the Prince Albert side may enter until 06:00.

Aandag Hardlopers

Meiringspoort Padsluiting:
Die poort sal gesluit wees vanaf 05:00 – 11:00. Geen voertuie word na 05:00 toegelaat vanaf Oudtshoorn en De Rust nie. Slegs atlete vanaf Prins Albert se kant sal toegelaat word tot 06:00.

Loyalty entries OPEN on 27 June 2026 @ 6h00 for 2025 entrants and on 04 July 2026 @ 06h00 for others.

Charity entries will open on 11 July 2026 @ 6h00. Only 200 entries available.

No faxed or Postal Entries will be accepted. Entries limited to 1300 on the 12.5km and 1800 on the 21.1km.

Registration

Race Number and Timing Chip collection at NG Church Hall, De Rust. IN PERSON, against positive ID, No 3rd party collections permitted.

No late entries or substitutions will be accepted at Registration.

Substitutions

Will also be accepted this year following the trial last year after the closing of Meiringspoort during the event. Wees asseblief versigtig met hierdie “SUBSTITUTIONS”. Daar is net een proses en dit is deur die Entry-Ninja Marketplace. Failing to follow the official and only route possible could find you losing out to fraudsters / scamsters. Transport

NG Church Hall, De Rust from 04:45 to 05:30 (Remember to order / bring a Fleecy Blanket). The last lorry departs promptly at 05:30. Coffee / tea / rusks are served free of charge at the starting points. No private vehicles or bicycles will be allowed on the route. The event will start when ALL private vehicles have left the starting point.
